The Ecovillage Baia delle Ginestre extends over a 12-hectare plot of land, immersed in the Mediterranean scrub. The impressive garden harnesses the influence of the sea and the warm sun of Sardinia to nurture various species of plants.
Upon your arrival, you will notice the Jacaranda trees at the entrance, plants that may appear dry in the vegetative phase but burst into unique-colored flowers when in bloom. These plants help the older palm trees provide shade for Tommy, our mascot's terrarium.
The myrtle berries and lemons found in the apartment gardens are also used to produce our after-dinner digestif. Medlars, mandarins, and oranges are used to make the jams that accompany the local pecorino cheese.
Among the succulent plants, the most appreciated is aloe; we have many species, including the Aloe maculata typical of the Mediterranean area. Impressive is the American agave near the vegetable garden, a plant that blooms only once after about 20 years of life.
